Charles Kenahan


Charles Kenahan, hailing from Rhode Island, has devoted over thirty-five years to wealth management, specializing in sophisticated strategies for asset allocation, risk assessment, and portfolio oversight. His career highlights include a pivotal role as Managing Director at Morgan Stanley in Boston, where he served from June 1994 to December 2007. During this time, he expertly managed the financial needs of high-net-worth individuals and corporations, earning the title Top Corporate Services Adviser for the Americas twice and successfully leading a top-tier Wealth Management Team.

In 2007, he transitioned with his entire client roster to Merrill Lynch, where he excelled as Managing Director until July 2019. Under his stewardship, his team’s Assets Under Management exceeded $1 billion. He was crucial in orchestrating the Equity Recapitalization of True Temper Sports, which netted a 3X return over two-and-a-half years.
Apart from his professional endeavors, he is deeply involved in philanthropy and community engagement. He has served on the Board of Consultants for Portsmouth Abbey School, his alma mater, and led their $50 million capital campaign to a successful conclusion from 2006 to 2012. His board memberships include roles with SailNewport, the Rhode Island State Police Museum Foundation, and Aritaur Communications, and he continues his service on the finance committee of Saint Mary’s Church.

His passion for yacht racing is another arena where his leadership shines. As the principal of the Mahalo Yacht Racing Team, he has steered his crew to numerous successes, including winning the 2015 Swan 42 North American Championship.
